The Challenge
My Little School NYC, a Jewish preschool run by Chabad of Tribeca in lower Manhattan, found itself in a difficult position after receiving a large custom t-shirt order from another vendor.
The shirts had already been promised to students and families for an upcoming school event, but when the order arrived, the prints appeared faded and blurry. The washed-out look was a clear departure from what the school had expected, and with distribution plans already in place and parents having paid for the shirts, there was little room to course-correct on their own.
The school needed a custom apparel provider that could fully reproduce the order, bring print quality up to standard, and deliver everything within a matter of days.
For preschools and community organizations, situations like this move fast. Deadlines are tied to events, not production schedules, and there is rarely time for multiple rounds of corrections.

The Solution
After reviewing photos and videos of the original garments, our production team identified several likely causes behind the print quality issues.
The most noticeable problem was the apparent absence of a white underbase beneath the artwork. On yellow and royal blue garments, a properly applied underbase is what allows printed colors to remain vibrant and distinct. Without it, the ink sits directly on the fabric, and the result is exactly what My Little School received: dull, muted colors lacking definition.
Our team rebuilt the print setup from scratch using production specifications better suited to the garment and artwork combination. Before committing to a full production run, we created digital proofs for the school’s approval and produced a pre-production sample so staff could review the actual printed shirt before anything moved forward.
Once approved, the order was prioritized to meet the deadline. Because the project supported a local community organization, we waived the rush fee and focused on getting the shirts done right and on time.
